Have you ever seen Ken Pietsch land his Interstate Cadet on top of the camper? If you have not, sale its a pretty neat site. He also flies his show, cheap looses an aileron, price flies recklessly, dragging his wing on the ground, etc. You get the idea. Check out this photo…

If you can see the backing bolts that hang down, those are the problem…
When I left today all the screws where in…until the last one…check it out…Thats my project in the AM…
Needless to say…I am changing them all out once and for all tomorrow. Everytime you pull the screws and plate you need to re-seal, etc. Its a mess..You can see my last problem child here…
So between times (you need to let the stuff set up a bit prior to filling the screw holes again I have been painting
It came out pretty nice…Also got the wingtips..they look great.
Some have asked about my alternator and what I did…here you go. A picture is worth a thousand words. After looking at both pictures, I guess its hard to tell but look at the reflection
I now have almost 3/4 of an inch behind the back bolt on the alt and the firewall.
Before the fix
and now….All this time the bracket for the alt had not been in correctly from the old engine
I can say here honestly, she is ready to go! I need to fix the damn bolts on the gas tank, but thats it.
Anyone ever had the problem with the bolts on the Monarch tanks like this? I would like to say its an easy fix but my last 4 attempts have been …

We are officially very close. We got a lot done the past two days and most of the little things are almost complete. Thinking Thursday/Friday sometime…
…but we all know how that goes. Here are a few photos from early AM today. I should have taken some photos when I left today but forgot due to the fact we were pretty fired up by days end.
Still waiting for my new tach to arrive. This is interesting. You can get it reset for around $350-$400 or just buy a new one for the same price. Mine was overnighted and arrived today. It will go in tomorrow.
You can see the hole for the tach here on the right
Same goes for prop and spinner number 1..Starting out with the 401 -86″ Mac for break-in. Once we break in the engine we will start our test of the two props…MT vs Mac
Most of the stuff you see here not finished was completed by days end today
I needed to put the 29’s in this photo for the planes ego…
…MT prop in the box on floor
Had a body shop in Reno do the work on the top cowling. It came back near perfect.
So as said, we are getting close. The cowl needs some rivets still, the control cables need to be rigged along with a couple little things still around the engine area.
This is the week…
Soy…your suddenly looking VERY GOOD on your guess!!!
